Warning

Specification change(2018/4/11)

If a user ID that has never been registered in the past is set on a device that has been set once, it is considered a new user.

User-device relationship¶

A device refers to a smartphone device that has an application with Repro's SDK installed. The uniqueness of the device is determined by Device ID(IDFV/ANDROID_ID) .

There is the following variation with regards to the relationship between the device and the user.

When one user possesses multiple devices
  • If one user uses the same user ID between different devices, the user on each device is user-identified on Repro and the tracked data is associated.

When one device is shared by multiple users
  • The user ID that was last set on the device and the device itself will be linked, and past users will no longer be linked to the device.

  • Users who are no longer associated with the device will be out of the scope when using push notifications and advertising audiences, on a per device basis.

  • If you do not set user ID, multiple users using the device will be treated as a single user.

User-browser relationship¶

Repro's Web SDK identifies each browser with a string that is saved in a cookie. If an end-user uses multiple browsers, the user and browser will be link in the following scenarios.

  • If you do not set user ID, multiple users using the device will be treated as a single user.
